Rhode Island Soccer and the Jump$tart Coalition Partner to Promote Financial Soccer
In honor of the World Cup kickoff, Rhode Island Soccer has partnered with Jump$tart to help promote financial literacy through Financial Soccer, the fast-paced, multiple-choice video game created by Visa. Visa Survey Finds 88% Overspend on Weddings
With wedding season in full bloom, Visa Inc. today released the results of a study that showed 88% of married couples believe they overspent on their weddings. At the top of the list was food and drink, on which 18% of respondents reported they’d overspent. About 14% said they’d spent too much on their honeymoon, 12% felt they’d overspent on their reception and 11% could have cut back on their clothing costs. Read more.

Despite tough times, parents spend big on kids
Jason Alderman's kids get $2 for the first tooth they lose and $1 for each subsequent tooth — a golden Sacagawea coin to make the event special. "A lot of my neighbors give $5 a tooth," said Alderman, senior director of financial education at Visa. "I've been lucky our kids haven't complained about the disparity from house to house."
